Let me get this straight. A league with Cortland Finnegan, Ryan Clark, Albert Haynesworth and any number of headhunters, cheap-shot artists, look-at-me divas, big-mouthed jerks and guys who drag teams down with lack of effort and/or lousy work ethic, and Jay Cutler is the most hated player?

Forgive me if I have trouble buying that.

I'm thinking Finnegan has a stranglehold on that honor. Probably literally.

Reilly's been national for so long, we sometimes forget he's a Denver guy. How many other athletes have gotten 2 columns just about them in recent years? He was a role model when he played for the good guys & a punk once he left.

Perception has a lot of different meanings and this thread about Cutler is the best case example of that.

With that said, as a Bears fan, I'm not a fan of him as an individual, given he's surly attitude carry himself like a jerk per his body language and the way he conducts himself in public. As a player, I can tolerate him enough to say that when he has his head screwed on, he's a decent quarterback who can help his team win. I still think he's a pain in the ass as a player in that he'll flip off his coaches and makes plays that hurts the team.

I'm not going to offer an opinion on whether he's the most hated in the league...until an actual poll comes out. Joe, who knows, Cutler might be the least liked. At least Finnegan gets his team jacked up by his antics.

I'm with Cutler on the charity deal, but not with him on his response. If he wants to keep it private of the charitable things he do, then he tell the groups he's associated with to keep it quiet.

If a reporter finds out about it and approaches Cutler about it, Cutler should say "yes I went to visit some seriously sick kids at the hospital and can you keep it out of the news, I feel uncomfortable with the attention, thanks."

Cutler is going to do it his way, and doesn't give a damn what we or anyone else says or thinks of him. That will not change. If he's going to do nice things in private, he has that right. If he doesn't want it publicize, then no one will run if he makes the request without being too much of a red-ass.

I don't think this is probable in a big market like Chicago. Basically confirming the story to a reporter and asking to keep it under wraps likely won't work in such a competitive media environment.

Apparently Rodgers blew off a lady with cancer last week, and nobody said anything about it.

All Jay Cutler does is win playoff games.

No surprise. Rodgers to me has always come off as an asshole.

Meanwhile, Jay Cutler still is an asshole.

I think lots of players and coaches are asswipes but don't get the resentment for Cutler.

So he acts like a douche in press conferences sometimes and makes a few stupid faces.

    That Rodgers link didn't work.

There's another link in an update by PFT. Not surprisingly, WBAY, a GB station that is concerned about smearing anything Packers, took it down.
    It's currently on youtube.

I don't see the big deal. He has an iPod on and has his head down. You'd like to think they'd stop for everyone, but they don't. Considering some of the athlete-fan interaction I've seen over the years, this one barely registers.
