The bald dude is an ombudsman for Gawker's Jalopnik site and "comments" often enough on deadspin, he has a fun nickname. So he's not exactly Harry Grabowski. Be that as it may, the Sun-Times is getting some bump from this, online and at the racks, so good for them. A lot of good people work there, and the paper provides an important civic duty. it's survival is keen.

Joe makes a very valid point. The Sun-Times paid Mariotti such an exorbitant salary. Nobody held a gun their heads. He's still a punk but the S-T has to share the blame for this situation.

 

They have a lower circ on weekends? Or is that a typo?

 

It's true. It's a big-time commuter paper. Tens of thousands of people read it on the train.

 

I wonder if they just decided to trash him before he had a chance to trash them.
