If I was a Sun-Times employee, I would be embarrassed by this.

One interesting sidenote, I don't think he even attended the gold-medal game...

Eek! Why would I subscribe to the paper that kept Mariotti around to ALLEGEDLY chase away readers oh those many years?

It was a clever marketing ploy, dools.

Someone please post the front next week when the S-T announces that Jay's old salary is being used for two new columnists.

Shotty hit the nail on the head, as he usually does.

I can understand and empathize with Sun-Times staffers happiness over Mariotti's resignation. But the lengths that they're going to paint him as The Devil Incarnate is pathetic. It is George Costanza-ish.

Mariotti's gone. He's never going to come back to the Sun-Times. Let it go.

Playthrough, I hope you're not holding your breath waiting for that to happen.

Whatever piling on Mariotti gets from S-T people (and any others) he deserves. Guy makes a fat salary, acts arrogant, goes to Bejiing on the S-T's dime and then resigns. If he's going to do the crime, he's got to do the time.

And class is a foreign concept in this instance, Tarheel?

I didn't know it was a pick-and-choose type of thing.

So when exactly was it when the Sun-Times was concerned with being classy? Why would you expect it now? Why shouldn't Jay-boy get a taste of what he dished out?

I don't know why you are uptight about this, shottie.

It's like watching a playground fight. You don't have to get involved to enjoy it from a distance.

Ebert popped him like a zit. And he probably had even more to say.

  12. More specific examples of solutions and less "talking points", please.
