Secondly, I've tried to call off the hounds on JDV. I don't like him; I don't really respect him, but I'm not going to sit around and bash him anymore. I've said so much more than once.

I really don't care who people bash, but I have no doubt JDV and RokSki (like Boom with his Muslim stuff) post while knowing exactly who is going to respond.

It's difficult to separate JDV's persona from him as a person: this is how he is, all the time. John is incredibly self-promotional, but that aspect of him is so ingrained in his personality that there really isn't any way to conceive of him not being that way. I guess a better way to say it is that this is not an act by him, this is just JDV being JDV.

John is very good at stirring the pot, and always has been. It's just like a reflex for him.

'arrogant prick' doesn't have the same connotation, at least not as I'm using 'self-promotional'
