Zeke and Rokski just stop. This is what I think the real moderators should be stopping. I am tired of this name calling crap, it is unnecessary and childish. I don't care who started what or why but this is terrible. Its about time that the professionals start act like it and the novices have some respect for the "writers". However with that said the writers need to be more tolerant of the novices.

They don't have a problem with the novices. They have a problem with the people who aren't journalists and never have been journalists.

You said you wanted to bring the fan's perspective to the site. That doesn't make you a novice writer.

I think you are missing my point.
You basically are complaining about the quality of the board. Ok, fine. Yes, you have every right to do that. But what good does it do to complain when you aren't going to change the overall culture of this place. I'm here because I like it. If I didn't, I wouldn't be.
I've left more than one board concerning TV production because I had posted information about shows I knew and worked on. However, a few members, who fancied themselves as all-knowing would rip us because it couldn't possibly be true because they didn't know about it.
That being said, you need to make the choice - take this place for what it is, or don't because one person (me or you) will not change what it's core is.

The new rules, best as I can tell, were put in to keep the journalism and job boards clean and bullshit free, mainly, and to have the code in place to boot someone who does nothing but attack or try to out people. It was a tweak, not an overhaul.

Ok, I rephrase that, supposed journalists should be more tolerant of fans opinions. Last time I checked your job kind of depends on someone giving a crap what you write. The intolerable boorish attitude that some Journalist have, turned some people away from the newspapers and other old time publications.

I don't believe I proclaimed utopia. I am saying we were added not necessarily because there are problems, but because this place has grown and one person can't do it all.
And I would hope if Webby doesn't think I'm helping at all, he'd tell me and I'd be removed. I don't look at being a mod as being a power trip, more of a janitor who goes to aisle 5 now and then to clean up the vomit.

I do understand that and I appreciate your comments. I would say that with rare exception I never come here as a fanboy but as a person interested in sports in general.

Personally, I don't give a crap if anyone gives a crap about what I write. And that has been the key to my success as a supposed journalist.

If Mark can proclaim utopia, can I declare shenanigans?
