She was enabled from a young age. By Lynn hoppes in Orlando and on to espn. The cart was put before the horse bc of her race and gender. Sorry, true story. No one has ever said, "oh, you have to read this Jemele Hill piece." Ever. She checks off boxes. That's fine. Everyone has to cater to their perceived demographics. Doesn't mean I gotta read or watch.

Just go ahead and say she got where she is because she's a black woman. Don't be afraid.

I agree completely, as a consumer of sports news she offers me nothing. And she offers me no reason to watch or read her. But, she's the only black female doing general sports opinion, nationally, on TV. And she's doing it for the #1 sports news provider in the country, in prime news time. She's not only the only one, she's the 1st one or practically the 1st one. By definition she's got the job because of gender and race, not in spite of it. So she plays to type. Robin Roberts was a reporter and anchor, not a screecher or opinionator. Hill is not a reporter and not copy writing and copy reading anchor. Someone's gotta be first and she's it. But you know what they say, when they start letting the minorities do the job, it must mean they are devaluing the job.

Hell; I agree with everything she said about Trump on Twitter. She didn't say anything controversial in my mind. Then again, it was nothing unique either

What's particularly interesting about teams not signing Kaepernick -- which Jemele has complained about -- is they are making a business decision based on demographics and how their fanbase would react to his signing. Also, he's not that good, so it's not worth it. Meanwhile, Jemele has her job bc of demographics. Is she the most knowledgeable person espn could put on its 6 pm sportscenter? Doubtful. Haven't seen the numbers recently, but it might not be the best ratings decision either.

He was in Fort Lauderdale, which, thanks to the legendary Fred Turner, was a steppingstone to bigger places for lots of people.

And it was a hell of a place to stay, if you so desired. :)

The irony of that skit? White liberals fell all over themselves loving that song for the *precise* reason it wasn't for white people.

Don't think I've ever heard it all the way through.

I do find the notion that every white male personality on TV got there through hard work and because they "earned it" laughable.

Neither here nor there, but I'm in that region now. I knew the Range is a bit out there (I drove around earlier this summer) but no cell service is out there. Also, you'd never believe it but the remote Minnesota town nearest the crash site has a dynamite Caribbean restaurant.
