Job opening at the KC Star?

Discussion in 'Journalism Jobs' started by Diabeetus, Oct 2, 2007.

  1. You're hired! I only wish I had your determination.

    That's not determination. That's bloodthirst.

  3. Then count me jealous of your bloodthirstiness (is that a word?) :D

  4. Wow, that's the kind of commitment journalism needs!

Appears as if KC has found it's man to replace Jason King.
The new guy will be heading to KC in December to start his new gig. He's a great reporter, and once he gets adjusted to living in "the plains," he'll be a good complement to Adam Teicher.
Let me make sure he's cool w/ his name being thrown out there and I'll post it.

Not according to one DSE I know. Granted, he might as well be from Canada.

Anyway, Kent Babb from The State in Columbia, SC will be taking over for Jason King in December. Kent's been doing projects and GA for the State after a stint on the paper's No. 2 USC beat.
He'll do good things in KC, and the paper made a good hire.

Met Kent earlier this year. Good kid and a great hire for KC.

    That's absolutely true.

  9. I offer Kent a mild congratulations. I do wonder whether KC is getting someone on the downslope of his career: Last year Babb won a first-place APSE, this year only a second-place. By 2017, he won't be winning ANYTHING.

Still, this move works out well for all involved.

Umm ... are you saying our careers aren't based on awards? I'm so confused. BTW, Kent's a tool. :p

In all seriousness, great hire by KC. Kent's as good as they get when it comes to enterprise and project work
