Trey, you're gonna be pissed when John VanBenschoten (sp?) becomes a star for the ChiSox.

For about a year or so, I thought the same thing about Kip Wells, aka Mr. Nibbles.

I don't even know Van Helsing made the team. I just saw him during a spring game and remembered him as the Pirates' top pick from my days in Bradenton.

Sheeit jeter's homer doesn't even crack the top five of all-time Yankees playoff homers.

  7. Since I don't remember Jeter's homer, I agree.

IIRC, it was almost as good as Brosius's that series.

A certain two-out, two-run homer earlier in that game is definitely higher.

    And Tino's.

Without reading four pages of BS (or even thinking about Jeter's Nov. 1 HR) the Top 5 home runs of all-time are:

    1. Mazeroski (only Game 7, bottom of the 9th winner in WS history)
    2. Thomson (Bottom 9th of Game 3 of best of 3 playoff when only 1 team in each league made the "post-season")
    3. Carter. (Other than Maz, only bottom of the 9th WS winning home run...I don't care that it was Game 6, he won the freaking WS with that HR.)
4-5 Puckett/Fisk (For reasons stated on Page 1 of this thread...kept teams alive but did not clinch anything.)

I try not to remember anything about the Yankees' postseason exploits since they crapped on my happiness in '96 and '99.
