I read somewhere that the house in TLC was to be a total comp, and the sponsors pulled out when the real estate bubble burst.

Booting family members from the show because TLC was going to pay appearance fees? Good gosh.

I'm a little skeptical of the story posted earlier - not the philly mag one. They don't live anywhere near juniata.

  4. To play devil's advocate, J&K have always maintained that they only want people to help who are only there to help the family, not to make money off it.
I know, I know, they make money off it. But it's their family.

But it was Kate's sister-in-law, isn't that family?

    She's a selfish bitch.

Can't say that I blame him for going out and having a little fun. She's an absolute shrew.

That article criticizes something about the kids getting to run the bases after a game. Do they not do that after games normally? After every Braves game I've been to, the kids were allowed to run the bases afterward, but they had to be down there right at the end of the game.

  8. Yeah, I doubt anyone thinks that's a real biggie. The kids are too young to know that's any kind of a big deal, and if we had that kinda privilege, we'd love it for our kids to experience that. Hell, after a Father's Day game at Fenway, all the dads and kids got to play catch in the Fenway outfield. That was a blast and an unforgettable day for me and my kid.

Depends on the team. As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong), the Yankees never allowed kids to run on their hallowed basepaths.

The way the article was written, it seems like J+K's kids got a special privilege to run the bases. And yeah, I can see why someone would want to rip them for getting special privileges.

I can't speak for every team, but I know the teams I've covered often give "special privileges" to kids and groups. The only difference is there's no camera crew around to film it.

And I so hate the Gosselin clan for getting a Shane Victorino autographed bat. They're just using the kids to get stuff others can't get.

All I have to say is those parents better be putting away some of that cash for the kids. I know it was bad enough trying to go through college just me, not to mention having five others in college.

Plus, if those were my parents, when I was old enough I was going to either be asking my parents for my share or we'd go to court. The magazine article brings up a good point: at what point are they your kids and at what point are they your meal ticket and road to eternal fame?

Had to laugh today when I was editing our rag and looked over only to notice Barnes and Noble had taken out an ad promoting her book tour stop in our town.

"In this inspiring memoir, the stars of TV's Jon and Kate Plus 8 open up about their amazing journey since birthing twins and sextuplets - within three years time - and share their thoughts on how faith helps them navigate the challenges and appreciate the good times of parenthood."

    Ha.
