They're actually pretty reliable on shit like this.

Exactly. I don't trust them on stuff like Angelina and Brad, but on divorces and cheating, they're pretty good.

But having a weekend away from dad? Apparently that's not a problem: http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20090528/ARTICLES/905289878

  4. I feel like my parents getting divorced was one of the best things to happen to me. I'm also pretty sure my dad left my mom for my step-mom, but the 8-year-old me didn't have to know it and the 28-year-old me can accept it.

That's what hurts the most about the situation: These poor kids not only are going to have their parents split, but they're going to have a perfect little documentary scrapbook to plot the steps. My ignorance was a luxury these kids won't be afforded, and I'm just starting to realize what a privilege that was.

I can't imagine what it must be like to grow up with all the dirty laundry out like this (with apologies to those of you who went through that; I know this situation isn't so extraordinary, just the magnitude).

For the record, I would take a fat Melissa Joan Hart over Kate.

There seriously should be some sort of law against using your kids in a reality show. They are getting exploited, perhaps scarred, and they have no say in the matter.

These days it's rare for any multiple-child birth not to be by C-section.

Jon and Kate are on the cover of US Weekly for the fifth straight week.

I don't watch this show, though my wife used to, but it is a pretty fascinating example of how fame and money can corrupt. I can see how people would get into this mess. I mean, these people seemed pretty normal at the start. Sure, Kate was pretty bossy and bitchy and Jon kind of seemed like a doofus to me, but they weren't that different than a lot of couples/families I know.

So I believe them when they say it started out as something that might be cool and fun for the kids to see when they were older and of course a middle-class family with that many kids could use the help financially. It might have actually been a good idea to do the show for a season or two, but instead they've become the poster family for how this reality TV crap gets out of control.
