I'm just curious if people are buying this...

I am a conspiracy theorist. I will be the first to admit that, but everything about this just seems like complete bullshit, or at the very least, about a tenth of the story.

I have no insider's knowledge on this other than a few friends who cover the league who agree with my theory, which means nothing...

I'd just like you to expand on this. What sounds like complete bullshit to you? Why? What is the "theory" you floated to your friends?

There has to be more to the story than the texts and calls from April. What happened to make him finally say he was leaving.

With a turd like Incognito, six months is eternity for him to extort and abuse.

It seems to make total sense to me, honestly. Dickheads and nice guys have always clashed. In the ol' college fraternity house, one of my best friends, to this day, got bullied mercilessly by another guy who is also one of my best friends, to this day. He wasn't even close to gay and the list of incidents, if rattled off, would sound like nothing that should make someone that upset. But they did. Because dickheads know how to push nice guys' buttons.

That Martin is gay and Incognito's bullying is related to that and that's what caused him to leave the team.

One of the first stories I read about it hinted at it and most of the early stories did as well... Over the last day or so, the stories have taken a bit of a different turn. Is that because we're getting a bit of the truth now, or are we being spoonfed bullshit?

The only reason I thought Martin might be gay was because of the way it was being reported early on where the reporters were making pithy comments like... "There's a lot more to this story..." and stuff like that, that I don't think they would be doing if this was all about threats and hazing.

Who knows? Like I said, I am a conspiracy theorist. :D

Doesn't matter what his sexual preference is. Bottom line is that he got punked and decided that leaving was the best way to handle the situation.

Be a cool story if he was dating fellow Stanford grad Jason Collins.
They sure would have big kids.

I am surprised Mizzou didn't pull out the Harvard-Westlake High School/Stanford connection, just like Jason Collins.

This theory that "Martin is a pussy because he did not beat Incognito's ass" is so tired and lame. You don't know, you were not there, so quit pretending. Do you realize that you are just feeding that bully mentality further? I thought you were educated; turns out, no you're just as much to blame as Incognito.

Those clowns get the run they do, the power they do (to demand $15k for trips), because everyone else is a pussy to him, empowering him to make his outrageous demands.

The pussies are those around him who went along with the extortion of people's livelihood and laughed along, NOT the victim(s).

If, and only if, those around the bully stop condoning and feeding this mentality, when the bully will be truly exposed for being alone, not empowered by the larger society, will the bullying stop.

Stop blaming the victim. Sure blame the lawyers (is that my self-interest? No), but realize something, the lawyers NEVER create the situation that's being litigated. So sure, blame the messenger, but first look in the mirror.

Damn. That would be one hell of a crazy coincidence.
