    Zag's player of the game

It's not that simple. The guy "took it like a man" for two years. Imagine it's your dream to play in the NFL, and then you get there and some a-hole who the coaches present as a team leader starts making it his business to make your life hell.
Most guys - they don't have the options Martin has - they think for them its NFL or bust and if this is the way its gotta be, then so be it. Hope to hang until you become a free agent.

I think you're speaking for yourself. I don't know anything about you except for posts along here. I'm not guessing what I would've done. I'm telling you what I would've done. I've been in too many situations like this and know how to defend myself pretty well. One of two things would've happened. He'd either beat my ass or I'd beat his ass but I've got his money on me. And if he kicked my ass, it would've been one helluva hard-fought ass whipping.
I'm not a tough guy but I'm definitely not a pussy. Don't fuck with me or my family, and we'll get along just fine. Do not get me in a situation where I must defend myself or loved ones. At that point, anything goes and I do mean anything.
Again, I think Martin took the route he thought was best for him. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with his punk-assed teammates not standing up for him. I don't blame the guy for not wanting to wear that teal-colored jersey ever again.

All really bad examples because in those cases, none of the victims are 6-5, 320 pound NFL players who are more than capable of standing up for themselves and handling themselves in a fight.

However, if a woman is being sexually harassed at work by some douchebag boss and had some gangster in her family come to the office and whoop his ass in front of everyone -- if I'm on the jury "not guilty"......

And ask Will McDonough about being bullied by an athletes and how he handled it.....

This will not end well for anyone. Not for Martin. Not for Incognito. Not the Dolphins or the NFL.

I've thought a bit about this whole bullying/hazing issue in the broader context. I've been bullied/hazed, whatever term you want to use, a few times in my younger years. At times, I walked away, like Martin did. Other times, I confronted the bully and fought back and that didn't end well, either. Normally, I was the one who got punished and told I SHOULD have walked away. So, what gives, damned if you do and damned if you don't?

Furthermore, when you think about it, stuff that is being alleged here isn't too much beyond what takes place ON THIS VERY FORUM, where a handful of cyber-bullies tend to gang up on others who hold a different political/moral view on some issue, root for a different team or whatever. Maybe not quite the same as teammates who have to co-exist day-to-day, but the spirit behind seems to be the same. I do wonder what motivates the Richie Incognitos of the world, and millions of others like him. Does putting someone else down make you feel superior somehow?

    Seems like a reasonable fellow:

I've had a few incidents where players tried to intimidate. Words mean nothing. Touch me and its on. I think I've told this story a few times but I once had a player push me out of the way to get to his locker. Everyone was interviewing the guy in the stall next to him. At that point, I calmly put the notepad in my back pocket and said, "I have no problem moving out of the way for you to get into your stall but you don't have to touch me." He said something, and I repeated my statement. No punches were thrown but later the player apologized because he knew he was wrong. I've seen him several times since and there have been no problems.
I'm not paid to get pushed around. I'm there to do my job and get out without any problems. Touching or pushing on me creates a situation that will be addressed. You can get your point across without being physical. Once it becomes physical, I really don't give a shit. I'm defending myself and I am coming out trying to hurt you.

No question. And I'm sure the Dolphins knew what this guy was capable of. I can't believe NO ONE knew this guy was twisted.
And Zag, you hit it out the park. The $15,000 was like stealing lunch money.

I think O-line coach Jim Turner's got to take some responsibility here. As much time as pro position groups spend together in meetings and whatnot, I imagine he witnessed a lot of this stuff first-hand and was in a position to stop it.

Interesting to note that from his bio, Turner had no NFL coaching experience before joining the Dolphins in 2012. Prior to that, he was Mike Sherman's O-line coach with Texas A&M (Sherman is now Dolphins offensive coordinator).

So maybe he was just as intimidated by Incognito as everyone else.
