Well, I for one know where's he coming from. I get absolutely fucking sick of people flaming the work of others under the guise of fair criticism.

 

Oh, I know the feeling, just that my list of things that really piss me off about this place is obviously a bit different.

 

This is not fair criticism. This is two guys taking great pains to rip Jones just for sport.

 

And what's especially noteworthy is it's highly doubtful either would be hired to work in the pressroom of a 3,000 daily, let alone write for it.

 

HB, this place runs on anonymous assholes ripping people for sport. Hell, the whole message board culture is built on. Why are you surprised?

Shotty, I agree with your general assessment of the intent, but that's a weak argument. It's not like people need to supply credentials before they can speak -- positively or negatively.

Seconded. And I, to echo others, hope jgmacg rethinks his position on coming to this board, though his sentiment is entirely understandable.

Idiots, while they've done nothing to warrant suspension or banishment, are just here ripping someone else for no concrete reasons whatsoever. It's sickening and those people are taking away from this site. Understand that I don't feel that I bring all sorts of substancial food for thought, but I try not to discredit others for funsies.

Again, jgmacg, I can only hope you'll reconsider. And to those others who are just trying to break a piece of writing down, with little to no rhyme or reason, please feel free to follow what jgmacg says he might do because you certainly won't be missed.
