You raised the question and I think that quote supports my reasoning as to why it was odd to see Jones show up in ESPN. In a way its kind of the Walmart of Magazines.

Has ESPN The Mag put people out of business? Has it intentionally lowered its rates to hurt the competition?

Boom, I think you're very much reaching here.

    I raised what question?

And yes, in 2003 and 2006 when ESPN the Magazine won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence in the 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 circulation category (beating The New Yorker in the process), it was said again and again at the luncheon that it was just...like...Wal-Mart.

Again. What unfunny point are you trying to make here?

You are now comparing ESPN the Mag to the New Yorker.
    Now that is funny.

I shop at Wal-Mart, but I don't read ESPN the Magazine. Do they cancel each other out?

I think "Boom" realized he hadn't been getting enough attention lately.

Nope. I'm telling you that it won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence in 2003 and 2006. In the same circulation category as The New Yorker.

    Try again, Boom.
