Jordan Neely killing/Daniel Penny charges

Much has been made of Neely’s criminal record. I’m not sure how much is true and how much much like the story about how George Floyd supposedly held a gun to the stomach of a pregnant woman, is the end result of a game of wingnut telephone.

In both Neely’s and Floyd’s cases, those things are completely irrelevant to why they’re dead. Nothing they had done on the day they died called for either of them to be extrajudicially executed.

If someone wants to tell me they should have done more time for any of their past offenses, I’d listen to them. Both men had already done their time for those things, however. None of those things had anything to do with their deaths.

You mean the part in which he argued that the only possibly response to a raving lunatic on the train is to choke them to death? OK ... where is that?

 

The part where he repeated what others had already said so you can weigh in with “Really? Wow! Thanks for pointing that out! No one here knew that! That changes everything!”
