A part of me is dying to know what Mayfly -- with his track record -- thinks he could possibly say that anybody would think is remotely funny.

 

Is Tony going to start swinging that fungo bat at the cops for releasing an "insincere" report?

All right, the only honorable thing for me to do right here is apologize. My original reaction to this story the day it happened was that many on the board were being unfair and unfeeling. Well, I can say nothing now to anyone who wants to moralize about drunk driving and rip Josh Hancock for his actions. He is dead -- and that is a shame -- but he caused it himself and there is nothing I can say in his defense.

I'm sorry he's dead but I'm also sorry for my initial reaction. Hopefully, some have learned a few lessons, though I doubt it.

that i disagree with. plenty of non-athletes do the same stupic crap.

that said, i have zero sympathy for this jerk. his family? sure. but i'd have more sympathy for them if he'd hurt or killed others, too.

i lost the love of my life in a non-alcohol related car death. she was wearing her seat belt, as always. they don't make you bulletproof. but they can't hurt.

 

Equal parts barrister, baseball warrior and genius, Tony's above apology. It would be great to see someone other than Miklasz in the Pollyanna St. Louis press apply the tongs.
