    Evidently, he was appointed by the donations of friends of his? I don't know how that happens ... doesn't do much for the school's rep ...

    To draw a parallel, this is like Matt Blunt lecturing Mizzou students after he leaves office that journalists are lazy.

    Kinda has a "nyah, nyah, nyah" ring to it. Maybe it's not all undeserved.

    Compared to the people they cover, many sports journalists could be called lazy. But compared to the academic chairs I have known--with a couple of notable exceptions--sports journalists are Tasmanian devils for work.
