You're also comparing the opinions of one guy to the programming of an entire network. Are all these shows "left-leaning?"

    C'mon.

QFT. Matthews is an opportunist. He pumps up whoever is in power or about to be. Has everyone forgotten his sloppy orgasm when Bush showed up on the aircraft carrier?

Yes, in my free time, I will do some Ph.D level research and get back to you.
To dispute the left lean on NPR's news-type programs (ATC, Morning Edition, Fresh Air, Talk of the Nation) is to dispute the raging righthandedness of Limbaugh.
If you want to go with that, then bless you.

I was confused. I thought he wanted you to prove what you said about Rush.

Matthews was pretty disgusted with Clinton. He's also gone off on Richard Blumenthal in Connecticut for lying about/misstating his military record.

But he's definitely a true believer. I think he gets very frustrated when voters don't see things his way and that leads to him saying silly things.

He also gets too invested in certain politicians. He becomes a fanboi and will defend them in an irrational manner.

YF said it better, and much less disgustingly, than I did.

Like Matthews, on balance, but his talking over people on a consistent basis is unappetizing,
and when somebody's beau ideal is Tip O"Neill, I'm not going to ride the train to the end of the line.
In his defense, he keeps it moving, and condenses a good deal of info and opinion into his time slot.

Good gracious. Really? It's not obvious?

Are you talking about some sort of slant in their news coverage? Or some sort of bent in their opinion writing?

Matthews reminds me of Dan Dierdorf in the broadcast booth. Depending on the outcome of a play, it is either genius or stupid.
You know what I'd like to see in politics? A guy or gal who doesn't operate on the fake ideal that like politicians act on their beliefs instead of how much money they take in from special interests. You hear about it during the elections, but it's not like the money doesn't mean anything once they are sworn in.

Yes, NPR leans left. It leans right sometimes as well. During the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, for example, NPR was accused of having a neo-con attitude.
