And a lot of PBS stations carried the McLaughlin Group.

"Leans left" really isn't much of an indictment. No one's saying its the mouthpiece of the Communist Party.

But YF to many on the right, "leans left" means exactly that.

    I don't think so.

It's not just that NPR leans left. It's seen as appealing to "elites".

Their audience is mostly urban, white, well educated, wealthy, liberals. And even the non-liberals I know who listen to NPR pretty much fit the rest of the criteria.

A lot of conservatives don't know why any of their money should go towards subsidizing that.

But it was the best that NPR's listeners could come up with.

I was lucky enough to hear some of the others:

    So not a sports fan.
    Must sheepishly admit first response,
    LeBron who?

Ten years of dating, she wants to wed.
Take me to the altar, she said.
What can I say to string her along?
A ring, you'll have, before LeBron.
Content with that, she brings me a beer.
And now I'm good for another ten years.

Think about how they made me feel. I was listening to them instead of being told what to think by Rush Limbaugh.

Even more interesting is that he was educated at Yale- one of the leading factories for elitist snobs.

I got a chunk of Rush in. Pretty much what I expected. Interpreting the news with a lot of scare tactics and emotional appeals.

There was a segment about Republican leadership being ready to assign existing staffers to Tea Party victors. "Don't they know that the Tea Party doesn't want to be told what to do by existing Washington!?!?!?!?!"

Then a segment in which a clip from Obama having a stump speech in which he attacks McCain's immigration stance. "See?! You can't try to be friendly with liberals, they'll just attack you when it is convenient to them!!!"

Then "News you won't hear in the Mainstream Media!" (or something like that). Something about housing prices being slightly down in the latest monthly data, which I have no doubt was reported all over the mainstream media and is probably where he got the data from.

Basically the same as he's always been: Pandering to the anti-intellectual and angry section of the right. I definitely think he's playing a character more than he is just letting his own views show (though I'm not saying his own views aren't conservative). The commercials were much, much worse.

Nice way of saying people who listen to Rush are stupid. I don't listen to his show, so I must be smart. Awesome! Of course, you could have done even better by saying he was pandering to the "lighter side" of the electorate.

Rush is an entertainer - no different than democrat party icons Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert

If you want your country to be elite, you need elitists to run it.
