Whatever, you know Loretta is hanging out with some Lexington heshers.

Quarles keeps getting creepier and creepier. I love it. It was great how he smoked out with the two hookers and then nearly ripped one of their heads off. I don't understand why he didn't just shoot all three, though. I mean he goes and kills a cop after all. What's the difference?

I don't understand why Boyd would have left Quarles like that in the first place.
Poorly written and not consistent with Crowder's character.

I'm not sure Boyd had really seen just how crazy and dangerous Quarles actually is, but it was still out of character.

I thought the comments on Sepinwall's (sp) review did a semi-good job of explaining it, but 1) Boyd's organization is pretty understaffed at the moment and 2) Boyd didn't have any reason to think that Quarles was THAT dangerous.

    1) Devil is gone, Arlo is senile and Johnny is in a wheelchair, so that leaves Ava as really the only "muscle" in Boyd's organization. She's too valuable to leave on guard duty, hence, the random guy (forget his name) and the two hookers trying to detain Quarles, even though Wynn tried to encourage Boyd to kill him right away.

    2) Boyd hasn't seen Quarles kill anyone. To Boyd, Quarles is just some northern carpetbagger that he outwitted when it came to the sheriff job. Wynn Duffy (and if we're involving minor character, his bodyguard and the Detroit boys) is the only one who knows how dangerous and psycho Quarles is, even loaded up on oxy. Quarles is killing people in front of Wynn, and maybe Raylan knows how dangerous he is, but that's it.

I think the other plot "hole" in Tuesday's episode was Wynn leaving Quarles alive after he catches him smoking in the trailer. However, he was probably comfortable seeing him trying to take out Boyd. If Quarles can do it, it saves Wynn trouble (he doesn't have to split the 100k / 200k when he eventually kills Quarles, and it eliminates competition). If Quarles fails, then he probably gets killed by Boyd or Raylan.

Boyd pulled the hillbilly rug out from underneath on the sheriff's race. I agree, Boyd is way undermanned and didn't have the resources to watch Quarles full time.

It wouldn't have taken much manpower to tie up his hands. (Same goes for Dickie & Errol at the bar).

True, but someone still has to watch Quarles. Boyd should've had the guy watch Quarles instead of the hookers.

So good. While it wasn't as good as last week's, that was an almost impossible bar to hurdle, and I love how Justified manages to carry some storylines for the entire 12 episodes without letting up. If only they could have managed to put that showrunner on for the last season of LOST...

  11. Nice ending to the season.
I was not real impressed with this season. Easily the weakest of the three. But I enjoyed the finale.

I thought end regarding Arlo was sad.
"He thought he was shooting at a guy in a hat."

  12. The end with Winnona and the "he was shooting at a guy with a hat" was the biggest "Holy crap" moment of the show and that was saying something.

    Awesome show.
