Blame Myles Brand for this series of chain reactions (firing Knight, hiring Davis, Davis bolting, Sampson hired knowing full well he's got baggage).

Maybe for most of the state, but he's still looking pretty good compared to most from Robeson County.

    Gotta love those interns.

Gee, who's worse. Knight or Sampson?

What a scumbag. Enjoy the inevitable probation, IU.

With Knight, you knew what you were getting from him. Sampson, on the other hand, you have to get a few more interns to dig up the bones that could put IU in a bad situation with the NCAA.

Sampson hands down is worse. He can single-handedly put a school and program on probation.

And memo to Kent Benson: cool down big fella. Uncle Bobby isn't coming back and Greenspan thought he made the right choice in bringing Cheating Kelvin.

Where in the fuck is Myles Brand at when IU really need him to throw down the hammer? Taking down the bully is cool, but not doing it consistently is quite another.

Rick Majerus gets punished for buying pizza for kids and Sampson will simply get a slap on the wrist.

    That's crap.

Chain of reactions, Ace, chain of reactions. Follow along...

    -Brand fires Knight.
    -Brand hires Davis
    -Brand becomes president of NCAA
    -Greenspan comes in
    -Greenspan fires Davis
    -Greenspan hires Sampson
-Sampson can't seem to leave his law-breaking tactics behind

It's called a series of chain reactions for a reason. Brand fired Knight and the dominoes fell, into which leads to yesterday's events.

    Yes, it's Myles Brand's fault.

Well, see, I'd blame Knight for being a royal jerk and starting the whole mess.

The Indiana athletic department has been in shambles for years. Davis lasted as long as he did in part because he had four ADs in six years. The faculty just completed a palace coup of the president who succeeded Brand -- the new prez just started last week. The lousy football team and its lousy attendance meant that budgets were strained, big-time. Indiana hired Sampson basically because most coaches didn't want to enter that no-win situation, where half the fanbase would always declare you're no Bob Knight, and the other half would just hate you because you didn't win national championships every year with nothing but honor roll students. Plus, you have to recruit to lousy facilities, for a program that hasn't won a national championship and has barely made much noise in the lifetimes of these recruits.

    Good luck, Indiana!

And to think, IU just lost a star recruit from Kentucky a few weeks ago...

    Good luck, IU...:D
