Well, I was sentenced to live in an area just north of Nashville, across the state line. Rural area, tobacco farmers, and such. I heard "darkie" repeated so much I thought I had climbed into a time machine and landed in the 1950s.

    PMS is hell isn't it?

You didn't realize it but you just insulted more Kentuckians than I did.

And I think you have morphed from sportschick into this because you've never been this pissy.

A.) If you tell me people used the word darkie, then that makes it backwoods.

B.) If you think "many" Kentuckians lived in that town as opposed to the rest of the state, then yes, you're an idiot.

And this is coming from someone who HATES that song.

Um, how many "major" cities are in Kentucky? Most of it is a rural state.

Fifth grade social studies wasn't that hard.

And for further proof, I've driven through most of it.

And if so many opposed it, then why did the song not get changed until the 1980s? I guess the political pressure in Louisville, hardly your backwoods city, wasn't enough.

Not sure how awesome Mark Allen is. He's the son of Bill Allen, the government's star witness in the widespread Alaska political corruption cases, including that of former Sen. Ted Stevens.

Part of Bill Allen's plea deal included immunity for Mark Allen, whom he used to bribe at least one politician.

The money Mark Allen used to fund his horse operation likely came from the Allen family's extremely sketchy sale of the oil services company at the heart of the corruption cases, Veco. Mark Allen's cut of the sale before taxes was $30 million.

    Sportschick, I mean
"Many" is a relative term. Maybe you didn't realize that.

A.) I didn't say anything about "major" cities, so I have no idea where that talking point came from.

B.) I didn't live in Kentucky in fifth grade.

C.) Saying that it took decades to change does not necessarily equal that they want it changed back now.

    Thanks for playing.

None of that changes anything about the reality that many Kentuckians still use the word "darkie" like they would "Good morning," even if it's a backwoods county.

I disagree with that statement of opinion that is being stated as fact.
