The one time I went to our local Golden Corral buffet, I figured among the nasty meat loaf, dried out slices of pizza, and germ-infested chocolate wonderfall, the fried chicken had to be edible.

    Wrong.

It was as nasty, bland and rubbery as the KFC stuff you describe.

It has a nice balance of flavor and heat. Prince's Hot Chicken used to be that way until it got to be the destination for Nashville Hot Chicken. One caveat: go early in the day and get medium hot. Anything hotter than that and the spices might drown out the flavor of the protein.

There’s a Popeyes about 25 steps from work. If I take lunch early I’ll hit it when it first opens because if I wait, it’ll be jam packed.

I still think the kerfuffle over their chicken sandwich was a test run for something the Russians were cooking up on social media.

Just yesterday I found a website selling merch with old SoCal company logos on it and was sorely tempted to grab one of these:

Pioneer Chicken Vintage Style Soft Tee

    Had Lee's before. Not terrible.

Everyone's playing for second after Eischen's, tho.

Why? They didn’t have Pup N Taco in your size?

I flew through Charlotte and the Bojangles line was thirty feet long at 11 AM.

Chicken-wise, Popeye's is as close to Pioneer as I've had.

Chick Fil-A isn't all that great and certainly not that much better than KFC.
