    The words are semantic, like sportswriters calling athletes "heroes" for hitting a game-winning homer. But in the context of the job, if the lawyer works as hard for the "obviously" guilty as the person who might be getting railroaded, it's courageous.

    How about an emergency-room doctor who works on a guy who just killed a bunch of cops, took bullets himself, and is fighting for his life? Should the doc do anything less than his very best?

    Oh, I'm sorry. I thought this was a journalism message board. You know, a place where folks who've been taught to approach stories skeptically and to not convict the accused with their writing tend to drop by. I'm sorry for the mistake.

    There is nothing alleged about it, he beat the shit out of her, nobody is arguing that he didn't.

    Your post implied that you remain skeptical of whether Huguely beat her. That has been stipulated by the defense. That's what JC is taking issue with.
