Meaning what? That I'd be naive to think that ratings wouldn't play a role in the timing of the interview?

Naivete? No. But what '60 Minutes' airs and when they air it has always been a function of ratings.

Yes, in response to your post.

Your "we kept hearing how she needed (her) privacy to recover" seemed as if you didn't realize more than two months had passed -- or as if you didn't think it possible a woman who is now back to work in late April could be in a different place emotionally than she was in mid-February.

I would think Logan, as a journalist and as a survivor who wants to tell her story, would naturally want that story to find the biggest audience possible, and that's what "60 Minutes" is.

To me 2 months seems a bit short for recovery from such a brutal assault. She just got back to work on Wednesday. Why rush out an interview. I don't think that the general pubic is clamoring for answers.

I haven't criticized the choice of venue. I've only questioned the timing of the interview.

CBS & 60 Minutes will get big ratings with this interview when ever it airs. My concern would be that they either held off on it -- or maybe rushed it -- in order to air it during sweeps.

And, I get Az's point as well. But 60 Minutes used to be special. It's always gotten tremendous ratings because it's always had incredible content.

I'd hope that they -- 60 Minutes & CBS -- would have Logan's best interest at heart. She's their employee. She was assaulted while on the job, for them.

The idea that they would use this interview as a sweeps "bonanza" is what is creepy to me. 60 Minutes shouldn't be be stooping to the level of a network affiliate in Podunk that annually breaks out its "Special Investigative Report" on the local strip club or swingers club.

    It's cheesy & cheap.

    Thank you Marshall Mcluhan.

Do you offer an annotated guide to your work?

    YankeeFan,

What LongTimeListener said was about venue and timing. Both.

That's not how I read it, even after re-reading it.

    It's pretty short. :)

The biggest audience won't necessarily be during sweeps. It would get big numbers whenever it aired.
