Just a stupid comment by a guy who apparently fears Jay-Z robbing Vegas blind.

Won't bother me if we get rid of ALL the hip-hoppers and gang-bangers of the world.

On a side note, I despised the Chris Brown segment on the Grammys the other night.

For the purposes of this guy's comments, does it really matter who needs who or whether or not Vegas would be a good location for a team? Plain and simple, that was a stupid comment and the mayor should have known better.

    End of story.

Never thought of it this way.

When I was in Vegas, I wanted to hit a 51's game because I'm a big baseball fan. But when I found if was way off the beaten path of "the Strip" I said forget it because as a tourist I had no car.

But if casinos offered transportation or "NBA packages," I'd go. But I'm not shelling out money to rent a car or take a cab.

No, the freeways and shitty team do a pretty good job of keeping people away from Hawks games.

Unless you like to gamble, watch Wayne Newton or order up a hooker there isn't a whole hell of a lot else to do in Vegas at night. I would think an NBA or NHL team would draw fairly well provided the arena was near the Strip.

Definitely an ill-phrased comment, but anybody who experienced the game in Atlanta a few years ago knows that the NBA All-Star game has turned into a hip-hop event, and the tens of thousands of people who arrive just to party can shut down the city (as was basically the case in Atlanta) if city planners aren't prepared to handle the logistics.

there's enough room on the strip that an indoor arena could be built so it's accessible by monorail. i'd hit a game if i was in town for 4-5 days.

Nobody would knock over a store at Fashion Show Mall, too many armed security guards there.

"Adrenaline rush" at an NBA game? How long has it been since you've been to an NBA game?

I'd think there are more opportunities for an adrenaline rush on the Strip than in your typical NBA arena.

He's right, no one wants the hard core NBA audience around a tourist destination. Vegas is desperate to get any team though

A fair point, Boobie. But for people who don't cover sport for a living, pro games still can seem like a thrill.
