You can always tell when the star wrote and directed a movie.

"Let's see ... I'm a big, burly guy, so who would be believable as my ex-wife? How about Sofia Vergara?

"And for my new love interest ... let's make it Scarlett Johannson."

Godzilla did have a great final kill shot.

  3. Out of the Furnace.

Christian Bale is a tremendous actor.

This movie was slow and long, with little build up and a small (predictable) payoff at the end.

And what was I supposed to be seeing in the final scene with Bale sitting at the table? What was beside him?

Definitely. Actually, the choice of Vergara as the ex isn't so bad. They make it clear that the character has put on a lot of weight over the last 10 years. Johannson was a bit much, but I certainly wasn't complaining about the view.

Yeah, I kinda hated this movie. Slow and predictable sum it up pretty well. My biggest gripe is probably how easy it was for Bale to accomplish his goal. It didn't exactly take a well-crafted plan.

Downfall. Had to finally see what created the meme.

I like history so I found it interesting. Cinematography very well done.

One thing I don't like about Netflix on Roku is they put the credits in a small screen, making them unreadable.

Yeah, I made the right choice not seeing that in the theater. I would have needed a whole bottle of xanax.

Just watched End of Watch earlier tonight on Netflix. Damn good movie.

Disagree. Great movie. Smart, and exceptional visuals. The detail is amazing. The pace was good and it kept me interested, which is hard to do for a 130-minute movie.

It was Mark Ruffalo Day, apparently.

Now You See Me ... a fun little romp also with Harrelson, Eisenberg, Fisher, Caine, Freeman, Laurent, Kelly.

The Normal Heart ... this was one just devastating. Based on the play about the early years of "gay cancer", which went on to be known as AIDS.

Now You See Me is one of my favorite movies right now. The twist at the end is pretty good too.

    "Dr. Strangelove."

First time viewing. Has to be one of the earliest product placements around.

Hated "Now You See Me." The characters were insufferable pricks.

Have borrowed a bunch of newer releases from a friend and hope to catch up on some viewing and cull down my Netflix queue. My turnaround time here is about six weeks and it's killing me.
