Three Days to Kill this afternoon. Reasonably fun movie, expecially at Redbox prices. This is what Costner is now. Personally, I'm OK that.

  3. Fucking awesome!

    Loved this.

Thought it was interesting Russell referred to his dad as "Bing."

    Great, fun documentary.

The Monuments Men - not as bad as I was expecting from the reviews. While it did gloss over some things and had some awkward transitions, I do think this is a two-hour movie that probably could've gone longer and it would've been better. That said, it was still an interesting story that made for a decent movie - but could've been better - and it's amazing that they actually pulled that off.

Bad Words - not as good as I was expecting. Jason Bateman was hilarious and the movie definitely had funny moments, but the ending was extremely hokey and the whole thing just didn't resonate as really good, just kind of OK. It was almost like it tried too hard to be offensive with vulgarity.

Agreed. Except with Casino, you got the feeling that Scorsese (or the screenwriter, Nicholas Pileggi) really knew Las Vegas.

With Wolf, you have a director who's made a lot of great films about New York... but who revealed absolutely no real insights about New York at all. You can maybe argue he got the tone of middle-class Long Island right but, really. This is someone who made The Age of Innocence. He can't tell us anything about the second Gilded Age except that stockbrokers like blow and hookers?

Nick? Questions persist, especially since he repeatedly spelled Caesars Palace WITH an apostrophe in the original work . . . and it ain't got one, dammit.

I don't think we need films glorifying the creatures who wrecked our world economy.
