Recorded and watched Midnight Cowboy after all these years. The characters were great. The story just never seemed to advance. He was an idiot when the movie started and an idiot when it ended.

  2. Heavy Metal and Top Secret. Both were on Netflix.

    Still enjoyable.

    Man, I love Top Secret.

    "Zis is not Mel Torme!"

  4. It was good. it was the first time I had seen Top Secret. I am big fan of Abrahams, Zucker and Zucker movies. I don't think was their best, but not the worst either.

Top Secret is 30 years old now. Still amusing, too.

    I saw 'Lucy' this weekend.
I wanted to like it more than actually did.

Watched "The Lone Ranger" last night. Ugh!

Good action sequence at the end, but I didn't like the two hours I had to sit through to get there.
Among other things, I thought the framing device of the elderly Tonto and the kid to tell the story was unnecessary, and the byplay and antics between Tonto and the Ranger throughout the film made it seem like "Laurel and Hardy in the Wild West."

And, with some exceptions, no movie should have to take more than two hours to tell a story.

    The 1987 comedy?
    Or the 1953 1957 1961 1965 sci-fi classic?

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes came to the local theater this past weekend. Saw it last night and really liked it. The reviewers aren't kidding when they say Andy Serkis does such a good job in bringing Caesar to life.

    'Lone Ranger' was absolutely terrible.

I wanted to like 'Her' because I like Spike Jonze so much, but ultimately I don't think it worked.
