McConaughey at least tries to act, no matter how weak the affectation is. Kutcher will flash a shit-eating grin, say something stupid and roll his eyes and he's done for the day. If there were any true justice this guy would be sentenced to hosting America's Best Dance Crew -- for perpetuity.

It's hard to determine who's the most worthless in this very large genus but his ass is pretty near the top.

    The Butterfly Effect was awesome.

Feel free to return to Kutcher-basing though.

    "Grosse Pointe Blank" tonight.

My 15-year-old has to do a movie review for his English class (don't ask). So what better movie to turn him loose on than this underrated gem?

Everyone always says that about voiceover, but I disagree completely. If used as a crutch, it's off-putting, but many good -- even great -- films have used it.

Shawshank Redemption, About a Boy, Blade Runner, Dances With Wolves, Million Dollar Baby, Adaptation, Rounders, American Beauty, Fight Club, A Clockwork Orange, Taxi Driver, To Kill A Mockingbird ... to name some.

    Watched "W." last night.

Not horrible. Had its moments. Should have been much, much better.

The original was not that much different in concept, but it was a lot more original and mind-blowing then.

For me, the mainstream sci-fi corner was turned with "Close Encounters" -- breakthrough stuff then, but nearly unwatchable in the light of all that has followed.

That's a hell of a rant, Zag. You've got a wedge in after a drive like that.

Watch "Recount," HP. Good movie, even if there are parts that piss you off.

A tremendous flick, to say the least.

And I am right now watching another underrated flick "That Thing You Do" written by Tom Hanks and he also has a role in it. A little bit of a cliche, the whole one-hit wonders storyline, but these characters are all pretty likeable except the lead singer, whose dickheadedness is what ultimately causes the band to break up.....

    Love Grosse Pointe Blank.

Finally watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would, just based on some reviews I got from friends. Yeah, the storyline was a little hackneyed, but I didn't care for plot. I wanted jokes.

    So many jokes.

Craig Robinson is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors ... he's excellent in everything I've seen. The Office is 100 times better when he has at least a minor role in the show.

  11. Agreed.
It was one those films I saw once, enjoyed and but would not watch again.

I watched Predator yesterday for the first time since college. It holds up remarkably well.

It sparked a "What is Arnold's best non-Terminator movie?" debate where it seemed the movies getting the most votes were Commando, Predator and True Lies.
