The Wrestler (again) ... still great.
    Frost/Nixon ... pretty good.
    Rachel Getting married ... sucked.

I looooved Rachel Getting Married. On the other hand, while I appreciate the skill of the actors involved, "The Wrestler" pissed me off.

brought home benjamin button last night ... and that damn thing was too long to finish before I went to bed. finished this afternoon.

parts of it I really, really liked. the daughter reading the postcards near the end damn near choked me up, in fact. and strong dialogue really jumped out occasionally. but, for some reason, didn't love it. can't put my finger on why ... but felt a little forest gumpy at times somehow. maybe if it was trimmed down into about 2 hours rather than nearly three.

The voiceover in Blade Runner was put in over the director's objections; when he released his cut years later, he took it out. Of course, no statement is absolute, including this one, but I did say "usually" not a good sign, and Ebert has often stated such.

    Just watched Aronofsky's 'Pi.'
Which was interesting, if not good.
    It also featured voice-over.

    Arnold, this one's for you.

I liked Punch-Drunk Love, but not as much as I would have with someone OTHER than Adam Sandler in it. I tried to ignore the fact it was him, but I just can't. It was a cute little movie, and I think we all feel put upon like that and realize those "6-8 week" things will pop up.

It was good, not great. I wouldn't buy it.

    I really liked 'Punch-Drunk Love.'
We have 'Through a Glass Darkly' up next.

You just put my feelings about "Punch Drunk Love" perfectly.

Conan the Barbarian and Eraser were better than all three followed closely by True Lies then Predator.

    Commando sucked.

I just can't believe there weren't more votes for Kindergarden Cop, Twins, The Last Action Hero, Dave, Jingle All the Way, Collateral Damage, Total Recall and Red Heat........

Total Recall, then True Lies. And Arnold wasn't in Dave (the Kevin Kline as president movie)

Well he sort of was as he made an appearance as himself in it (as did Larry King, Oliver Stone, Jay Leno and a bunch of others). That's enough for me.........
