An oldie and (surprisingly) still a goodie: "Oh God!" with George Burns, John Denver, Teri Garr

Still holds up with some humor and (very light) social commentary. Long live the AMC Pacer, and grocery store dudes hitting on check-out girls.

Plus, Teri Garr in her prime ... ;)

And for the ladies: You get to see John Denver shirtless and in the shower!

Watched "The Way Way Back" after having it on the DVR for a few months. Pretty good slice-of-life/coming of age story about a teenage boy whose life is turned upside by his mom's new relationship, but who finds something to be part of working a summer job at a water park.

Sam Rockwell is great as the kid's slacker mentor. And it was interesting to see Steve Carell (who plays the mom's boyfriend) go against type as a completely unlikeable dick.

Even though you know exactly where it's going, St. Vincent still hits you hard with its sentimentality. It builds to a predictable zenith, but you'll still find yourself with watery eyes. It's funny and touching with superb acting. Bill Murray is fantastic. Melissa McCarthy might want to steer clear of playing the over-the-top crazy character because she's actually pretty good as a "normal" single mom.

Fury - A throwback to 1950s war film over-the-top (and unbelievable) heroism mixed in with a unhealthy amount of gore. A truly awful script and mostly bad performances from fine actors. The final scene is one of amazing stupidity.

Somehow I imagine this guy ...

    ... delivering the pitch:

"April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany."

When the World Series was at a break and the score was 7-0 I surfed the channels and landed upon WILD THINGS. Never. Gets. Old.

I get older, but the hot girls on film stay the same age.
