Speaking of a movie that plays to the humor inherent in its characters, I took little OOP and one of her friends to see Big Hero 6 today. Much of it was predictable, but Baymax is appealing for the kids, there is enough action to move things along and the movie doesn't take itself too seriously despite having loss and grieving as a recurring theme.

Little OOP is 11 and she thought it was great. I wouldn't go to see it on my own, but it's not a bad experience for the parents who bring their kids.

Guardians of the Galaxy and Batman Begins are great examples of why you can't lump all movies based on comic books together. Completely different movies in just about every way. I think Batman Begins holds up very well to repeat viewings. Guardians may be more fun, but I'm not sure how it will hold up a second time around.

I never saw the Lego Movie. My wife took our daughter and they actually walked out early because they both hated it so much.

Yeah, it really sucks when art is playing off one's deeply felt nostalgia instead of just stripmining it.

Is that a comment on the Lego Movie? As I said, I haven't seen it. It was my wife and daughter who hated it and I don't think nostalgia had anything to do with it. My daughter is only 11 and from what I saw in the trailers, there wasn't much in there that my wife would care about. Maybe that was the problem.

    Who cares what they thought.
The movie is as true to its inspiration as anything I've ever seen.

Awww. Sounds like they hurt your feelings. You are entitled to your opinion. They are entitled to theirs. They both thought it was among the worst movies they have ever seen.

They have probably been exposed to so much bad cinema with you they can scarcely tell the difference anymore.
There are a lot of guys on this board who get steamed when they're disagreed with. Fart isn't one of them.

This post proves your last one false. You are clearly upset that two people hated the Lego Movie enough to leave. I'm really sorry they hurt your feelings. Hopefully, you will be able to recover.

Nah. Here's the thing little man- I truly don't care. I like the things I like, and to hell with the rest. It's a nice rest stop to come to in life.

You are the one who stalks me, fart boy, so please stop lying about that.

The real question is why are you so obsessed with the Lego Movie?
