I hated the second 'Hunger Games' movie.

The Theory of Everything was moving. Fantastic film that may have glossed over the end of Hawking's first marriage, but still nailed it as an emotional and inspiring movie.

Watched The Drop a few nights ago. A good film but it has to win this year's award for heavy-handed symbolism:

James Gandolfini. Failed petty crook. All-around loser. Jets fan.

I've debated with people as to whether Wahlberg was bad or it he was trying to be bad, because the Dirk Diggler character is so dense. I think PTA has said before that Wahlberg was playing the character exactly the way he was supposed to.

I think Wahlberg was actually bad, since that was one of his first movies. I think he's gotten quite good since then.

I think he was actually bad and his movies since then have borne that out because he's an awful actor.

    That was awful.

Finally saw Draft Day. Football people will recognize the BS and non-football fans will be bored by the draft process. Entertaining enough, but not very good.

Right now am rewatching for a can't count the time My Darling Clementine, John Ford's greatest Western. Henry Fonda as Wyatt Earp, Victor Mature as Doc Holliday and Walter Brennan as a really really mean villain.

I haven't yet seen Gone Girl, but your description reminds me of the way I felt after seeing "Mystic River." I loved that movie, but since I had a kid, I'm happy to never see it again.

Big Hero 6 with the 6-year-old today. Have to admit that it was pretty good.
