    Avengers sequel this weekend.
It was alright for what it is. As I've said, I loved the Avengers during my comic book days, late '70s into very early '80s.

Regular afternoon show I wanted to see was sold out, so I made the mistake of buying the ticket for the 3D version that started 30 minutes later.
Made my movie trip too expensive, and I don't like the 3D. It find it distracting. It does not enhance to movie for me at all.

And I like to sit in the front, which doesn't work for 3D.

I'm not a fan of 3D either. When I saw Avatar, I got such a bad headache that I had to leave.

I've seen a couple animated movies in 3D since then, and didn't have any issues, but the 3D wasn't very good either.

"Far From Heaven," a 2002 movie with Julianne Moore, Dennis Quaid and Dennis Haysbert. It presents a very dark view of the 1950s, and is filmed in cinematic style of that era.

Great movie ... one of the best of the 2000s. The three actors mentioned above knock it out of the park (although seeing it now, I half-expected to hear, "You're in good hands with Allstate")

When I saw it in the theater 12-plus years ago, the larger issues such as racism in society and the way gay men were treated as diseased individuals stood out. This time around, the sadness was in realizing how two people can be married 10, 15, 20 years and know nothing about their partner, including their true passions.

I liked it but it did have some strange holes. I don't recall the word "grunge" being mentioned once and "Seattle" no more than once.

It was also a little weird how much Kurt's mother and Courtney Love resembled each other.

Sounds like a description of freqposter's sex life.

I didn't notice any of those items, but now that you mention them, the lack of "grunge" and "Seattle" is interesting.

Just saw Tommorowland in a free sneak preview. I would not recommend it.

Seemed like a convoluted mix of an ad for Disney World/a nod to plucky Disney kid shows and an attempt to lure adults in with George Clooney and a National Treasure-like plot.

Damn, sorry to hear that, Ace; I am (was?) looking forward to it.

saw Watchmen again, though it was an edited for TV version. I'd like to see the unedited directors cut. I never read the comic book but I always liked this movie. Not great, but interesting.

My wife liked it OK. I thought it was truly bad.

I really liked it. (But especiallynliked the graphic novel.)

I think it is a really interesting take on super heroes but a little slow in parts.

Mortdecai on DVD. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I found it pretty entertaining.
