Beyond the Reach. Saw previews for it a couple years ago and was intrigued, but then never noticed that it was in a nearby theatre. Found it on Amazon Prime. Decent movie. Some mild suspension of disbelief required, but still decent.

Going to see new Capt. America this weekend - first shot at a movie since twins came home from the hospital.

  4. The Gambler.
I hate Mark Wahlberg movies. They are fucking awful. Its not always Wahlberg's fault, but they all suck. The Gambler was no exception.
The ending was so unplausible, so out-of-character ... And a half-naked John Goodman, should be grounds for an automatic NC-17 rating. He reminded me of Orca fat Marlon Brando meandering through Apocalypse Now.

It's on my permanent Winter Holiday viewing shelf, along with Christmas Vacation and Die Hard.

The Nice Guys in matinee showing yesterday. Had its moments - I enjoyed the house party scene and the soundtrack overall - but I was underwhelmed.

Wound up watching Along Came a Spider last night or the night before. Ending was telegraphed about halfway through.

The Revenant; not saying Leo's role was easy but it never struck me as "wow thats the Best Actor right there." Some good scenes. Enjoyed Spotlight more.

Hey, you gotta win a trophy if you climb inside a dead horse and eat raw buffalo.

Did you think maybe "why not BBQ the meat over the flames" while he was eating the raw buffalo?

Let me just second Buck's review of "Captain America: Civil War." Many minutes could have been cut out of both the opening and closing fight scenes to excellent effect. One thing I did like. How many of the Avengers got a chance to tell Tony Stark they think he's kind of a jerk.
