... and if I can continue my Cranky old man rant, 3D SUCKS! Adds nothing to a film, is just a shitty, wiz-bang "Look what we can do!"

    Ace and Batman like this.

More cranky Old man: As for the Ghostbusters reboot, I'm okay with the gender switch EXCEPT for McCarthy. God, not since Kevin James has an overweight, one-note, over-exposed, hack gotten on my nerves so much.

BTW, flick was the new Independence Day. Not bad, but with serious WTF moments. Vivica Fox goes from stripper to doctor? Uh-huh. Judd Hirsch and the whiny kids drove from the East Coast to Area 51 in less than a day, on fumes the entire time? Sure. Bill Pullman shaves his beard and - HALLELUJAH! - no longer is a feeble old guy who needs a cane? Now, wait a goddamned minute...

So what you're saying is that if I grow a beard and shave it, I won't need my cane anymore? Sheeeeeit, wish I had known that years ago.

Yeah. My problem is I can't grow a decent beard, dammit.

Pretty good movie. Great cast, obviously..
I was really impressed with Steve Carrell. A little too preachy and a bit overly dramatic - but, hey its Hollywood - but it took a relatively boring subject and made it interesting.
I've have some interest in the housing bubble. A few weeks ago I watch Terry Jones' Boom, Bust, Boom on Netflix. It was Ok.

I also fall in the camp the bank should not have been bailed out.

Taking a break from copying movies to watch one I've already done. Chosen at random: "The Fox and the Hound," 1981.

I knew Kurt Russell was the voice of adult Copper, but I had no idea Corey Feldman was the voice of Copper the pup.

Mickey Rooney - Kurt Russell - Corey Feldman. Movies sure bring together a strange assortment of actors.

So she really was just stripping to pay her way through college?

It adds to the movie's box office take. They can shoot one or two scenes in 3D for not much extra, then charge double the ticket price.
General rule of thumb: If there's both a 2D and a 3D version of the movie, see the 2D version if you can. It means there was a post-conversion done, and 95 percent of the movie is still 2D and thus not worth the extra money.

I agree that Ghostbusters was one of those movies you really wanted to like more than you actually liked it. Maybe it was the theme song.

The Infiltrator. Haven't read Mazur's book, so I have no idea where licenses were taken in the movie. I found it really entertaining.
