I just finished watching the whole four part series. Good Lord, it is a framework for understanding how we got from the late 1800s to Trump. Holy crap.

Would encourage others to watch this, and let me know what you think.

First saw Hacksaw Ridge with the family; what a story about an amazing man, why isn't he more recognized? The man literally saved 75 men by himself without a weapon. A true hero.

Then Sunday matinee of "The Arrival." Not the most obvious storyline. Wildly intriguing, not sure what to make of it frankly. If anyone wants to exchange thoughts, please PM me, I'd very much like to discuss.

There's a good movie somewhere in that mess, but Jackson fucked it up by allowing Jack Black to deliver the signature line and running an hour longer than it should have been.

The T-Rex battle was nearly worth the price of admission.

Watched Ant-Man tonight and enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. I wasn't familiar with the character, so it was more interesting than I expected. They did a nice job explaining and showing how powerful he could be with such an odd power.

I liked the nod to Spider-Man's inclusion in MCU during the final scene ("We have ones who jump, who swing, who climb walls").

Either later tonight I'm taking in The Last Waltz for its 40th anniversary. I noticed recently it's been added to Amazon Prime.

That part was a favorite of mine as well. I believe the news of the deal broke during production of Ant-Man.

Not that big of a movie guy, but sampling from free stuff in my On Demand lately.

Saw Gravity a couple nights ago. Obviously, the visuals are incredible, it was well-acted and I love the space program, but I hate disaster movies and this was kind of one after the other. Also, I've read enough about the Shuttle over the years to recognize that being able to get from a shuttle working on Hubble to the ISS to another station in the course of hours is entirely bullshit.

Saw Allied yesterday. Very good. Great acting. Shades of Casablanca.

    'Ant Man' = ok, enjoyable
    'Bad Moms' = awful

  10. Warcraft.
Watched it with the kids. Not bad, but it didn't end. They pulled the Hunger Games bullshit and pretty much ended the movie without resolving much of anything. Pissed me off.

Bad Santa 2 was a bore. The first third was funny, but the rest dragged.
