Great, great flick. Along with "Taxi Driver," makes a pretty good case that there were few places on earth more miserable than Vietnam/Watergate-era New York City.

    Funny damn movie.

Stars Colm Feore (First Dude on 24) and Patrick Huard, Quebec's Brad Pitt. The hockey shtick (get it? :)) is a little overplayed but these two are such good actors they can pull it off.

This grossed $1.4 million in the first weekend in Quebec.

Oh, and took the twins to see Up last night. Touching movie.

Just watched Major League on HBO ... and here's how I know I've seen this movie way the hell too many times (not that there really is such a thing with Major League). Anyway, in the playoff against the Yankees, I've got an anal-retentive nit-pick. Doesn't bother me ... just something I noticed for the first time. Bottom of the seventh, we see Jake Taylor ground out and grab his hammy. And then after that Dorn comes up and gets on and Cerrano hits the homer to tie it at 2-2. What I want to know is why is Taylor, a gimpy catcher with bad knees, hitting in front of Dorn, who had 86 RBI and Cerrano, the big power hitter? Maybe that's why Lou Brown was running Lou's Tires at the start of the film.

Like I said, watched this one way too many times.

Just watched Con Air again. Best movie ever.

"Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box?"

    9.4/10.

Just watched "He's just not that into you" with Mrs. Novelist. Mildly amusing. Scarlet Johansson was smokin, as usual. Made me glad I'm out of the dating game. It's ugly out there.

Prosecution, please place this in your file.

What? Dedicate another file cabinet! It's not that difficult.

Dude, I'm not talking strictly in a "good movie" sense. When I say Con Air is the best movie ever, it's a bit tounge in cheek, but it's also justified because that movie rocks. Pure popcorn film fun. Love it.

Oh, I get it. We all have our guilty pleasure, not-that-great-but-fun movies. I still hold that for any reasonable person, "Con Air" does not qualify.

My guilty pleasure action movies are Bad Boys I and II, everyone in my small collection of friends hates them.

Mine's The Cutting Edge. I hate chick flicks, and most sports movies, yet I adore that movie. Might be the one-liners.

    Yes, Doug can read.

Too many of you are too young, but "The Carpetbaggers" retired this trophy a long, long time ago . . .
