I just finished "A Private War", with Rosamund Pike as Marie Colvin, foreign affairs and war reporter for the Sunday Times of London, plus Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci. True story. Colvin reported from various war zones mostly in Africa from 1985 until her death in Homs, Iraq in 2012. Helluva good movie. On Netflix now.

Watched "Tobruk" today - the '67 film with George Peppard and Rock Hudson. For some reason I'm on a quest to see all the major Hollywood depictions of major WWII battles - Midway, The Longest Day, Battle of the Bulge, Patton, Bridge on the River Kwai, The Dirty Dozen, Sands of Iwo Jima, made in the 50s and 60s. Tobruk is on the lower tier - factually and scope-wise - but I don't feel ripped off buying it for $14 after not being able to find it on any streaming service.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle left me with more questions than answers.
Why is Loretto, Kentucky populated by Texans?
Did the casting director mean to hire Beau and called Jeff by mistake?
Pushing together two different distilleries was just weird. Why? Did they mean to call in an art director and hired Jeff by mistake?
Why does the fate of Pedro Pascal's character make me feel attacked as a vegan?

Weird. You equate being an inarticulate nerd who cheats on his wife, is a total sellout and needs Cialis to proving how good you are. But if you claimed to have seen it and aren’t just mocking the movie because something, something the cools, who am I to argue…

That movie was about a third as fun as the first one, which I love. Especially the church killing scene with "Free Bird" as the soundtrack.

Then, of course, there’s the other half of the Nobody puzzle, which links back to the real Bob Odenkirk and a traumatic moment. With a home invasion occurring in his own personal history, the allure of channeling those feelings into a rough and tumble action hero persona was even stronger. Odenkirk described that piece of the story, as follows:

She's beautiful and she looks like a mature woman. They would have cast someone half her age then if they made Network today.

Watched “Snake Eyes.” Meh. Some good action, but never made me give a shit about the storyline. Maybe it works if you’ve seen or liked the other G.I. Joe movies.
