  1. The chick talking about the mattress room and catching crabs grossed me out.

And she was so nonchalant about it!

Finally saw "Star Trek" in the theater, with my 12-year-old son and his friend. Loved it, loved it, loved it. The perfect balance between breaking in the new and staying true to the old. The best part was picking out the show cliches that were woven in. You could make a drinking game out of it:

    -- "Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a ---"
-- Kirk screws the green chick
-- Unknown guy in the red shirt bites it on away mission
-- Kirk pulling himself up off a ledge (multiple times)
-- "I'm givin' her all she's got, Cap'n. The engines can't take much more..."
-- The bridge team all leaning one direction when the ship is hit

The great thing is, it's all woven in so well that it feels like something you might have put in anyway. My son and his friend, who have never seen the original show, loved the movie without knowing any of that backstory.

And I love Leonard Nimoy making reference to his old, bitter book ("I Am Not Spock") when he turns around and says, "I am not Spock's father."

However, it was depressing seeing Winona Ryder as Spock's mother, only because it confirmed actors my age are now in the role of Parent of an Adult Child.

That film is one of my great guilty pleasures. The Cold War-era instructional film on dodgeball was a riot

    Haha.

It gets better with every viewing. I remember seeing it with my dad when it came out and couldn't believe it's been five years.

Why is dodge on there twice?

Love this movie. Can watch it endlessly. Particularly like Vaughn's character, and, yes, Taylor is gorgeous.

He's Just Not That Into You. And I LIKED it. So there, movie snobs!

Scarlett is smoking hot, BTW. But I mostly missed her because I was busy looking at Bradley Cooper.

Saw "Moon" today - good, and I do not normally dig a lot of science fiction. If you liked the best of the old Twilight Zone episodes, you'll enjoy the approach.
