Instant classic. I never get bored with that movie.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. A fun, enjoyable couple of hours of film. Also, Redford, especially with the mustache, quite resembles Brad Pitt.

Charlie Bartlett. Parts of it were definitely enjoyable, but it felt disjointed at times. One of the problems is not enough character development of the side characters to truly care about some of the stuff that happened to them.

Thoughts on "Public Enemies" (saw it a week ago, haven't had a chance to get back here yet):

After it finished, my first thought was: I feel bad for anyone who doesn't already know who these characters are.

Absolutely no character development whatsoever. Pretty disappointing.

For me, it was still a very enjoyable film, even though there was very little depth with the characters. But I consider myself pretty well-versed in the 1930s crime wave scene, so I could put into context the Hotel Congress arrest and the Wisconsin lodge shootout, etc. For anyone who hadn't seen the History Channel documentary on Dillinger, et al, I think it might have been more confusing.

Bale sucks. 'Nuff said. Just not a fan, I guess. I loved the Batman films, but I don't much like him as an actor. Melvin Purvis was from South Carolina -- have no idea what accent Bale was going for, but it wasn't the right one.

And while Cotillard is a fine actress, and I enjoyed her performance, she didn't fit that character well. (I'm still confused by why they would play up the role of Billie Frechette in a Dillinger biopic anyway, instead of Anna Sage or Polly Hamilton -- except of course that they needed a Hoosiers-esque love interest, no matter how irrelevant it was to the plot.)

    Oh well.

Enjoyable film -- thought the lodge shootout and death scenes were done exceptionally well -- but watch the documentary if you want to know anything about Dillinger. This film won't teach you anything.

One more thing about "Star Trek:" I was shocked that not only was Tyler Perry in it, but that as a result the movie was not "Tyler Perry's Star Trek."

    My thoughts on Public Enemy:

I liked it a lot better when it didn't have the FBI stuff, was a lot less urban, and still had Faye Dunaway.

Saw the last 30 minutes of "Bachelor Party". Still kind of funny. Hard to believe Tom Hanks was in it.

I think I would rather watch video footage of my childhood pets be hit by cars than watch He's Just Not that Into You again.

Worst major studio film I've seen in years. Maybe since "In the Cut," the Meg Ryan debacle.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I liked it, but I didn't hate it like most here did. I found it an inoffensive way to kill two hours on a plane. If I'd paid for it or spent potentially useful time watching it, maybe I would have felt differently.

Cashback. It was OK, nothing special. But probably great for those trying to get over breakups and look ahead.
