Viva Las Vegas. As a follow-up to my recent visit to Graceland, I thought I'd check out Elvis's biggest box office success (acting role) which is now on HBO Max amongst a few other of his movies.

And wow, I can now see why Ann-Margret was such a big star of that era. She was awesome!

Also features the mayor from Animal House as Elvis's friendly rival and William Demarest (Uncle Charley from My Three Sons) as Ann-Margret's dad.

    Thor.

It’s not great but it’s not bad.

The bar is high for these movies that people have a hard time rating them. You won’t walk out saying it’s shit and you won’t walk out wanting to see it again in five minutes.

Saw Fire of Love, documentary about a famous volcanologist couple. Incredible footage, all from their own archives. And a pretty poignant love story too.

We’re doing the Bourne trilogy (last one doesn’t count) and reminded of how well done those were. Dialogue, action, plot, so good.

Was walking out the theater and heard one gut saying the movie felt rushed. My first thought was you wanted that to be longer? It has its moments. I laughed a few times. But honestly I was more hyped by the mid credit scene than the rest of the movie.

I liked it fine. It was entertaining. Gave us mostly what it needed to give us. Good, what we used to call summer movie. Served its purpose and I am sure advances the MCU somehow.

The funny thing on length, I said it on the MCU thread, I actually thought it was a breath of fresh air to have a Marvel movie clock in at under two hours (even if was only a minute or two with the credits).

Just came back from seeing "Love and Thunder." Definitely not one of my favorite Marvel movies. A lot of the time I just felt I was watching a mediocre sitcom, especially the meeting in the gods' palace, although that had a great cameo.

HOWEVER, my opinion just might have been affected by seeing it in my local theater, which is a little bit older and not exactly state of the art. The audio in the theater seemed to be a little off and I had trouble picking up the dialogue sometimes, especially when they're was some Guns 'n' Roses playing alongside it.

But, generally, some good parts but I was just underwhelmed.

Going to see the restored version of Lost Highway at my local rep cinema. Didn’t catch it first time around. We shall see what my 19 year old thinks of David Lynch.

Saw it in New Orleans when it first came out in a theater where you sit on couches and can have a meal brought to you.

It was fun. Trippy, of course, and mostly it just made me nostalgic for days gone by.

Lynch didn't exactly demonstrate much restraint in putting Arquette in soft porn style scenes.

House of Gucci. Mostly a tacky mess. Gaga and Driver are decent, Leto is insanely over-the-top, Pacino only slightly less so. Hayek's role is weak. Jack Huston (Richard Harrow from Boardwalk Empire) was good. He'd make a cool Bond villain.

Appropriate casting of Robert Blake, that's for sure.

    Among Lynch's lesser efforts.
