the most disturbing scene was when bruno interviews the parents trying to get their kids acting work. no shame on the parents' part, and that's a shame.

The one lady who said her 30-pound daughter would be able to drop 10 pounds for the role should be shot.

Just got through with Gran Torino. God, what a great film.

I stood away from this one in theaters because I feared it was going to be an unrealistic portrayal of an 80-something Clint Eastwood kicking the crap out of 20-year old punks and was worried it'd be too much like Death Sentence or any number of revenge flicks for me to be able to suspend my disbelief but I was pleasantly surprised.

Liked the subtle touches of Eastwood's character evolving throughout the flick and especially loved the final scene where he reveals what he really thinks of folks (Don't want to give much away).

Overall, solid, solid flick. Don't let the blah trailer fool you.

Watched Casino Royale (Bond, 2006) last night, and that is a solid, solid movie.

Good action, good depth to the Bond character, but it had only a couple smoking hot women.

Still, one of the top five Bond flicks IMHO.

What I like about the Daniel Craig's version of James Bond is he is very human. Never seen a James Bond get beaten up and have to sew up his own wounds. I really like Craig's rendition of Bond.

It's an awfully likeable picture . . . made before Crowe began to go fatally wrong
    with the Cruiser.

B_H, saw "On the Waterfront" the other day largely because of your pushing of it on this board. You did not steer me wrong. It was a great movie and one of the least violent mob movies I've ever seen, yet the phenomenal acting and carried the picture. It doesn't hurt that Ms. Saint is stunningly beautiful.

I saw Bruno yesterday. Most of the really funny stuff was at the beginning and it kind of lost steam after a while.

An all-timer. I dare to say Cameron Crowe's best work.
