It could be, certainly. That's a good possibility and a great call. But I took it to reference the friendship between the two main protagonists. (I haven't seen the movie, but have read the true-life book on which it is based).

I watched the entire thing and never fast forwarded.
That’s a positive review for something streaming.

Peter Dinklage in "Cyrano". I'm stunned at what a wonderful production this is.

I can't imagine the madness that was casting a little person instead of someone wearing a false nose, but this thing just works so well. I am rendered speechless.

I thought maybe it was done as a vehicle for Dinklage, who seems like such a great fit for the role.

It started as an Off- Broadway musical starring Dinklage, so you're very probably right. Otoh, this means that he was fully in touch with both the character and the line delivery. For someone who does not really sing he was surprisingly credible there as well.

All I know is that it made me cry like a baby.

Interesting note. The film was shot on location while under full COVID protocol, closed set in a bubble. Thus, all the dance pieces were done by the same dancers, no matter what the characters were, soldier, baker, or sheep. No choreographer credit, that was the director's baby.

Set aside Dinklage as novelty casting (which it wasn't, it works amazingly well) and it's still an extremely well done "Cyrano".

Ah. Erica Schmidt, who wrote the play, is Dinklage's wife. You were on the nose.

    Well done

Just a good guess based on my appreciation of Dinklage's work and how perfect he seemed in the role when I saw the trailer. Going to have to watch that this week.

Didn't realize they'd remade it; I'll definitely check it out!

Babylon. Uh. Babylon. It's...a lot. I think a lot of people will absolutely hate it. A few will probably love it. Most will probably be fairly entertained while wondering what in the hell they just watched. That was me.

Last week a theater in Times Square played Christmas Vacation for a few showings so went and saw that on the big screen after 30 years of watching it on TV on reruns. It was a blast.

Oh my goodness, it was the most beautiful movie I've watched in a very long time, perhaps ever. The 3D was as breathtaking as the original, in terms of being so much better than anything before it.

As for the story, its long yes, but it never felt like "wow this should have ended hours ago", its 3:30 and probably could have cut 10 mins here and there but still a fun ride. My son did point out one thing that is fundamentally troublesome, you've got the white guy who enters the indigenous people and becomes the savior. I agree.

Saw Avatar 2 earlier today. It’s fine. Visually spectacular throughout, as you’d expect.

Makes you forget the monster-truck sized plot holes and the one-dimensional storytelling, and a pretty huge plot line they left hanging for the third movie. And it’s at least 45 minutes too long.

Also, whoever decided to cast Edie Falco as a four-star Marine Corps general should've been fired on the spot.

All that said, it’s great if all you’re looking for is a lot of action that looks incredible.
