Just watched the Adult Swim "Yule Log" movie, also called "The Fireplace." It's from the same guy who produced the famous "Too Many Cooks" short a few years back.

I'm not sure when exactly it crossed into "What the hell am I watching?" territory. Could have been when the stoner crawled through the fireplace, into a portal of hell, and a demon tricked him into erasing himself from existence. It might have been when the flaming killer yule log showed up. It might have been when the hillbilly rapist serial killer asked one of the people in the cabin, "Wanna see my ding dong?" I'm almost certain, though, it got there when the organ-sucking aliens showed up.
Hard to recommend it unless you're looking for something weird and stupid, but amazingly it was not the worst movie I've ever seen. In terms of something off the wall, you could do a lot worse.

I feel like Miles Teller is having the career Shia LaBeouf would have had if he didn't go batshit.

We watched Ticket to Paradise last night on Peacock. Clooney and Roberts are great but the movie felt like it was written in about 15 minutes.

Pretty much. Similar to Emma Stone/Lindsey Lohan.

Watched Maverick again last night. Found it interesting that Glen Powell "Hangman" - originally auditioned for the Rooster role (being a natural blonde). But I think Hangman is the better role and has the greater "starmaking" potential. First noticed Powell in "Everybody Wants Some" the Linklater baseball flick set in the '80s. Great cast in that if you haven't seen it.

I think that the Hangman character was underdeveloped. Guessing that there were a couple of deleted scenes which flesh a few of the roles out more, including the Jon Hamm one.

YouTube rabbit holes led me to a Rock Hudson flick I never heard of and might now watch after this clip ...

Fulfilling my religious duties, we just got back from Wakanda Forever. I’m not a MCU person, especially because I find the action scenes numbing. This movie was ok, but not very good, especially in comparison to Black Panther. Dealing with the Boseman death was a near impossible hurdle, but I thought that the movie was trying to say about 5 things, and didn’t do any of them particularly well.

Original script was she was pregnant, he didn’t know, snap happens, he comes back to a five-year-old and the movies deals with fatherhood. Sounded amazing.
