"Likeable" is a great word for it. It just has such a nice atmosphere to it. If you think about it, Lloyd is really pretty much an idiot, but how can you come out of that movie not rooting for him?

And I'm not sure anybody but Cusack could have pulled that off -- he's played some similar characters, but that's the one he was born for..

Cusack is one of the few actors that could pull off that role without looking like a pussy.

after say anything, iona skye was touted as being one of the new big stars of hollywood, much like mia sarah of ferris bueller's day off, yet neither went anywhere.

Whatever happened to the girl who played the princess in "Neverending Story"?

I so wanted to....share a sleeping bag with her. When I was seven.

Saw Public Enemies Monday and enjoyed it. Especially liked the embedded homages to the 30s-era gangtser movies, down to the way they did the credits (really big names rolling up the screen). Made me want to go back and see The Untouchables again.

    "The United States of Leland."

Outstanding. Story of a kid who kills his ex-girlfriend's brother basically to show that he hurts when she dumps him. Devolves into a complex study of relationships across several platforms. I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but Chris Klein was fantastic in this one. So was Don Cheadle, but he's pretty good in just about everything he does.

I added that to my Netflix queue last night. I'm psyched, though it's like 175th on the list. Maybe I'll move it up. :)

Like Brooke Shields, she's a damn handsome woman . . . but a great thespian? Probably not.

It remains a great snapshot of a time, place and lifestyle situations, with a handful of
grand performances . . . led by Brando, of course. Steiger's great, too, as always.
