On Netflix: “Airport,” the original disaster blockbuster from 1970. Featuring an all-star cast, as they say, including Dean Martin as an experienced pilot who was shacking up with a hot stewardess.

Having never seen this, it’s amazing how many small details from the movie were parodied in “Airplane!” 10 years later.

I was entertained — and a little creeped out by how the “passenger with a mysterious briefcase” plot was so similar to D.B. Cooper’s real-life caper a year or two after “Airport” came out.

"Serpico." One of Pacino's finest performances courtesy of Sidney Lumet's solid directing. Stocked with a many familiar faces (M. Emmet Walsh, F. Murray Abraham, Judd Hirsch, James Tolkan....and Mandy Pepperidge of Animal House). Via Amazon Prime.

Four other people and I were in the theater this afternoon to watch About Our Father, with Robert De Niro. I would have left after about 15 minutes but Mrs. Flip was one of those others.

it was dreadful. Not funny at all. At. All. I think it was like Meet the Parents, but I’ve never seen that.

"You Hurt My Feelings" about little white lies in a marriage. Very well done. Started a good conversation with wifey.

DeNiro has to be at the top of the list of respected actors who will do any movie for a buck, but doesn't get nearly enough criticism for it, right?
    Anthony Hopkins isn't far behind.

Methinks Bob has a financial need to keep going on from what I've read, and take that with a grain, etc.

I know I've posted this here before, but the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie was such a steaming pile.

    I took my kids, I LOVED R & B as a yut in the 60s or whatever.

Hoping my kids would find the same kind of appreciation I had.

Where was Rotten Tomatoes when I needed them?

It did damage to me, I can't get it out of my head, even when watching the OG online.

My kids are fine, Pokemon heals all in that time frame.

I let off some steam and watched COMMANDO last night.

That's gotta have Arnold's highest kill count.

I also learned that the closing credits song, "We Fight for Love," was by Jeopardy threadjack champions The Power Station. Even on a throwaway B-side, Tony Thompson was merciless on his drums.
