HC & I saw "Julie & Julia" the other day.

Worth the price of admission just to watch Meryl Streep.

I want to see this too. Strictly for the females, though. Larter is gold.

Saved. I wish Jena Malone did more stuff. I love her.

Jenna Malone was awesome in My Life as a House, which proved that Anakin can truly act. Kevin Kline's career best.

Saw "Two Lovers" with Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow last night. Figured it for a light-hearted rom-com and it certainly was not. Pretty good, though.

Tyson. Very good movie about Mike Tyson with Tyson talking about his life. Very moving.

Hey Mizzou, I've interviewed Tyson several times but I never saw the rawness that I saw in that movie. When he talks about Cus and what he had, it really tears him up.
Is is off-centered? Hell yes. He's batshit crazy, but he shows you a human side that many people don't see. When he talks about Robin Givens, you can tell that he loved her but was young.
The incident with Desiree Washington, I kind of believe his version. He didn't need to rape anyone. He could've bedded any girl in that room.
I also like his take on money. He's at one extreme or the other.
    It's a great movie.

I'm jealous about you interviewing Tyson. He was the one guy who I would have given anything to sit down and talk to. Although I know people who covered his entire career who never got a one-on-one with him for any more than a few minutes.

He clearly trusts the director, especially since they've worked together before, but to the director's credit, he doesn't skip over the good stuff if you will...

Count me in that group who got a one on one for about two or three minutes. Happened twice and he was cool. The other times there was always another scribe or TV around.
I though when he broken down, I detected a director's cut, but then I saw where it appeared that it would continue some where else in the piece. Only the director knows for sure.
I've often thought of him and Michael Jackson in the same way. They were pathetic souls not knowing who to trust or who to love. They don't know if someone likes them for who they are or what they are.
One other thing, when Mike got out of prison he was cut. I remember the Mao and Che tatoos and how they rippled on his muscular body. That certainly is not the case any longer.

I've heard conflicting stories about how big he's become. I've heard he was well over 300 pounds for awhile, which is saying a lot since he's not a tall guy.

I got his autograph right before he won the title in 1986. He was making an appearance in Reno and I got him to autograph the Kid Dynamite cover, which I still have framed in my office.

He's the most fascinating athlete of my lifetime.
