Finally got to Frost/Nixon on the recent recommendation by my boss. It was a very good, very powerful movie. Langella got rave reviews, but the entire time I thought he was more Dole than Nixon. Course, I've not seen a lot of video of Nixon, so his mannerisms or ways of being don't resonate with me as well.

    I enjoyed it well enough.

Watched the Mike Tyson documentary the other night.

It was excellent. No matter what you think of the guy, there is no denying that he's a fascinating subject.

A bootlegged version of The Hangover.

Just as breezy and fun as at the theater, maybe more.

Saw "It Might Get Loud." Good as guitar porn, but ultimately an empty exercise.

Am watching Walk All Over Me with LeeLee Sobieski as a bumbling wannabe dominatrix. Kind of intriguing in a continual 'what the fuck?' kind of way.

FYI: I recently started working for a telecommunications company and have been rewarded with more than 200 cable channels, including all of the movie networks.

Last night I saw "Gamer" with Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall. It was a pretty strange film that left a lot of questions unanswered and wasn't particularly satisfying. The kids liked it, but not as much as they liked "Halloween II" - go figure.

Fortunately, one of the previews shown before the film was for another Butler movie called "Law Abiding Citizen," and I'm definitely planning to see that one - looks great, lots of awesome revenge-motivated killing!

Just saw Extract, a few laughs aside from that a very average film.

    Same here.

I thought it had a very anti-labor message. Definitely not a film that should have been released on Labor Day weekend. The more I think about it, the more I consider it be insulting. It's truly the opposite of Office Space.

Watched "State of Play" again last night.

Enjoyed it just as much, though it irritates me that:

    1) No one edits the final story. They just send it. Period.

    2) There is a 2-deck, 6-column headline ... in the past tense! ... on the front page of the story when the credits roll.

    3) How did the wife know how much money the girl was getting paid? Crowe brings it up in the end , but we never find out how the wife found out.

Saw "The Hurt Locker" last night.

It's about bomb techs in Iraq. Holy shit was that movie intense.
